Collection of Names and Email Addresses

I collect names and email addresses through the Comments, Subscribe Here links and the Contact page. Users that provide names and email addresses through the Subscribe here link are agreeing to receive weekly newsletters about activities related to this blog. Names and emails collected through the Contact page are being sent to for follow up. GDPR notices are documented in the collection of names and email addresses for both the Subscribe here and Contact page.

This blog uses cookies through Google Analytics that collects anonymous traffic data. This information is shared with MonsterInsights (a plugin that allows me to manage how I view the Google Analytics data). I use the results to monitor the number of users and sessions this blog receives and how those users are finding this blog (i.e. google search, social media, direct link). I also use the results to monitor what time of week and day this blog receives the most traffic. I do this to better understand my target audience.

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here:

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
